Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation seeks a Mine Shift Supervisor for Kinross Kettle River Operations to oversee underground development and production during the Curlew Basin Restart. You’ll serve as Kinross’s on-site representative, coordinating contractor activities, ensuring compliance with standards, safety, and schedule requirements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in an underground mine.
• 5+ years supervising a team.
• Thorough knowledge of underground mining practices and procedures.
• Ability to operate mining equipment to high standards.
• Understanding of mine health and safety laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee that the Contractor is working to all applicable standards.
• Provide daily approval of the Contractor’s completed activities to the Mine Superintendent.
• Coordinate the activities between Kinross and Contractor crews.
• Organize and lead Kinross’s crews to meet project plans, schedules and goals.
• Conduct daily safety and ground inspections and provide guidance on ground support.
• Communicate daily objectives and priorities to Kinross’s crews.
• Provide instructions and training in the proper use of equipment.
• Manage resources to set operating priorities and achieve daily goals.
• Supervise production and development cycles for Kinross and Contractor teams.
• Monitor equipment function and report malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Document Contractor delays and review Change Orders with oversight.
• Conduct mine inspections to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate daily activity records and inventory of mine supplies.
