Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation seeks a skilled Underground Mechanic to join our Mobile Maintenance team at the Haile operation. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair underground and surface mining equipment to keep runs safe, reliable, and productive.

This hands-on role requires solving complex equipment issues in a team environment, with 7 days on/off shifts. Opportunities include training, safety focus, and career growth within a growing mining operation.

Qualifications

• Underground mining maintenance experience is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Sandvik, Normet, Caterpillar, and/or Komatsu mining equipment.
• Knowledge of underground support vehicles and light-duty fleets.
• Ability to read OEM manuals and electrical/hydraulic schematics.
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on underground and surface mining equipment.
• Work on Sandvik LHDs, drills, and haul trucks; Normet utility and support equipment; CAT and Komatsu loaders and auxiliary equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and CAN bus systems.
• Perform field repairs underground and safely return equipment to service while minimizing downtime.
• Follow OEM manuals, schematics, and site procedures.
• Complete accurate work orders and maintenance records.
• Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance teams to prioritize repairs and production needs.
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to reliability improvements.
• Support development of apprentices and junior mechanics.

Job Description

OceanaGold’s Haile Gold Mine is looking for an Underground Mechanic to join our Mobile Maintenance team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing awide range of underground and surface mining equipment to help keep our operation safe, reliable, andproductive.

This is ahands-on opportunity for askilled mechanic who enjoys solving complex equipment issues, working in ateam environment, and supporting adynamic underground miningoperation.

What You’llDo:

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on underground and surface miningequipment.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and CAN bussystems.

• Follow OEM manuals, technical prints, schematics, and site-specific maintenance procedures.
• Complete accurate work orders, PM checklists, and equipment servicerecords.
• Work closely with Operations, Supervisors, and Maintenance teams to prioritize repairs and support productionneeds.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and contribute recommendations to improve reliability and performance.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support the development of apprentices and juniormechanics.

Qualifications

What You’llBring:

• Previous underground mining maintenance experience is stronglypreferred.
• Hands-on experience with Sandvik, Normet, Caterpillar, and/or Komatsu miningequipment.
• Knowledge of underground support vehicles and light-dutyfleets.
• Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, hydraulic/electrical schematics, and technicaldrawings.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and CAN bussystems.
• Proficiency using laptops and OEM diagnosticsoftware.
• Valid driver’slicense.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance with mining regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of ateam in demandingconditions.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in confined underground spaces and safely access active miningareas.

Additional Information

Working atHaile:

This role works in both underground mining environments and surface workshops or yard facilities. The position may involve exposure to dust, noise, vibration, diesel emissions, and changing temperatures. Required PPE must be worn at alltimes.

The schedule is 7 days on / 7 days off, rotating day and night shifts, with overtime asneeded.
