Job summary

OceanaGold's Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina is seeking a skilled lead technician to join our maintenance team. You will play a crucial role ensuring efficient repairs and maintenance of mining equipment, contributing to operational success.

Lead technician duties include mentoring junior techs, interpreting diagnostic tools, reading electrical and hydraulic schematics, and maintaining shop tooling. Shift work with 12-hour rotations, safety-focused and teamwork-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a heavy equipment technician.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and software such as CAT SIS, CAT ET, Cummins Insite.
• Commitment to safety protocols.

Job Description

We are looking for skilled lead technician to join our team at Haile Gold Mine. You will play a crucial role helping ensure efficient repairs and maintenance of our mining equipment, contributing to the success of our operations.

Lead technician duties and responsibilities:

• Train and mentor junior techs, fostering a culture of safety, reliability and efficiency.
• Read and interpret diagnostic tools.
• Read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Vast knowledge of tooling
• Follow troubleshooting diagrams.
• Establish priorities and adjust in fast-paced environment.
• Maintain tooling and shop equipment.
• Support supervisor in tasks and fill in during supervisors’ absence.
• Help with extensive repairs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a heavy equipment technician
• Strong leadership skills and ability to guide a team efficiently.
• Proficiency or computer skills in diagnostic tools and software such as CAT SIS, CAT ET, Cummins Insite
• Commitment to safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

Additional Information:

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see.
• Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
• Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
