Job summary

The Greens Creek Mine near Juneau, operated by Hecla Mining Company, is seeking a support miner to operate underground construction and road maintenance equipment essential for daily production.

You will begin with MSHA safety training, perform inspections, troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems, and weld or fabricate as needed. The role requires independent work on a remote island mining camp with rotating schedules.

Qualifications

• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Welding and fabrication skills required or demonstrated.
• Ability to operate and maintain underground construction and road maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain underground construction equipment, trucks, jammers, batch plant, and related gear.
• Conduct daily workplace inspections and prioritize tasks for the shift.
• Work on a remote island mining camp with scheduled rotations (e.g., 14/14, 20/10, or 14/7).
• Adhere to MSHA safety training provided in the first days of employment.
