Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation seeks an Underground Lube Technician reporting to the Underground Maintenance Supervisor. You will fuel, grease, and service underground mobile equipment to maximize reliability and safe operation.

Responsibilities include scheduled servicing, oil changes, filter changes, lubrication checks, recording service data in JD Edwards, and supporting mechanics. This role requires a High School diploma, 1–3 years lubrication/maintenance experience, and ability to work rotating

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years lubrication, fuel and lube, servicing, or heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of lubrication principles, grease application, oil properties and contamination control.
• Understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, drivetrain components, and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to complete service records and work orders in a computer system.

Responsibilities

• Fuel, grease, and lubricate underground mobile equipment (loaders, haul trucks, jumbos, bolters, utility vehicles).
• Perform scheduled service: oil changes, top-ups, filter changes, coolant checks, greasing.
• Maintain lubrication systems, reservoir levels, and service vehicle with proper tool storage.
• Operate and move equipment safely for servicing and inspect for leaks, wear, or damage.
• Record servicing data, hours, and inspections; document findings in JD Edwards.
• Assist mechanics with inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs as directed.
• Maintain inventory of lubricants, oils, filters, and related supplies; uphold housekeeping.
• Comply with MSHA regulations and site safety procedures; complete risk assessments as required.
