Job summary

Blue Streak LLC 1 is seeking an Underground Laborer to support the installation and maintenance of underground OSP telecommunications infrastructure. You will work with skilled operators and foremen to ensure safe and high-quality trenching, conduit installation, and cable placement.

The role demands physical stamina, willingness to work outdoors in varying weather, and the ability to operate or assist with underground construction equipment.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check and drug screening.
• CDL preferred.
• Experience in underground construction preferred.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Load, transport, and unload materials to and from job sites.
• Set up and maintain safe, compliant work zones following safety regulations.
• Prepare work areas by shoveling dirt, digging holes and trenches, and assisting with conduit installation.
• Perform spot digging to safely expose existing utilities.
• Feed cable from large reels into conduit.
• Ensure proper placement of marker tape when laying cable.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Assist the Foreman and crew with daily job-site activities.

Job description

Join our team and play a key role in the installation and maintenance of underground OSP telecommunications infrastructure. As an Underground Laborer, you'll work alongside skilled operators and foremen to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality construction of underground cable systems.

Responsibilities:

• Load, transport, and unload materials to and from job sites
• Set up and maintain safe, compliant work zones following all safety regulations and guidelines
• Prepare work areas by shoveling dirt, digging holes and trenches, and assisting operators with conduit installation
• Perform spot digging to safely expose existing utilities
• Feed cable from large reels into conduit
• Ensure proper placement of marker tape when laying cable
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of debris
• Assist the Foreman and crew with daily job-site activities as needed

Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in underground construction preferred
• Familiarity with underground construction tools and equipment preferred
• CDL preferred
• Knowledge of Ditch Witch, Vermeer, Mini Excavators, and similar underground construction equipment is a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
