Job summary

Desert Elite Electric & Construction, Inc in Indio, CA seeks an Underground Laborer to support underground utility installation, trenching and general labor on outdoor desert projects. You will work with the crew daily, operate hand tools, and follow safety protocols to ensure quality workmanship.

Experience in underground construction is preferred; OSHA 10 is a plus or willingness to obtain after hire. This role requires physical stamina and reliability in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in underground construction or general labor preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with underground utility installation, including conduit, cable, and electrical infrastructure
• Perform excavation, trenching, and backfilling operations using hand and power tools
• Support crew members during underground electrical and construction projects
• Follow all jobsite safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company procedures
• Operate and maintain hand tools, shovels, compactors, and other labor equipment
• Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and material handling throughout the project lifecycle
• Communicate effectively with foremen and crew leads to ensure efficient workflow

Requirements

• Prior experience in underground construction, utility work, or general labor preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods
• Familiarity with trenching, shoring, and underground utility safety practices is a plus
• OSHA 10 certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Reliable transportation and ability to report to jobsites in the Indio, CA area
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-first attitude
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme desert heat conditions
