Job summary

Barminco is seeking an experienced Underground HD Fitter to join our USA International Operations on a 7/7 or 14/14 Residential roster. You will mentor national trades personnel, minimise downtime, and ensure safe maintenance of large underground equipment in a high-productivity environment.

The role requires 5+ years post-apprenticeship underground mining experience, strong troubleshooting on electric/hydraulic drilling equipment, and a proactive safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Passion for safety and proactive safety mindset.
• Experience training less-qualified tradespeople in a mining environment.
• Strong background with Sandvik, CAT and Atlas underground equipment and automation systems.
• At least 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in underground mining on large mobile equipment.
• Proficient in troubleshooting electric/hydraulic drilling equipment.
• Knowledge of loader and truck maintenance.
• Competent in Auto Electrics, Hydraulic Schematics and Diesel maintenance.
• Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
• Excellent service and maintenance approach.
• International Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment safely and per procedures.
• Mentor, coach, and develop national trades personnel.
• Utilise skills to minimise downtime on machinery.
• Record and report maintenance activities accurately.
• Maintain high housekeeping in workshop and work areas.
• Read and interpret service and spare parts manuals.
• Report faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling into weekly planning.
