Job summary

Rio Tinto's Resolution Copper project near Superior, Arizona, invites geologists to join a team building orebody knowledge for future mining decisions. You will work across surface and underground environments, collecting, validating, and interpreting high‑quality data in collaboration with drilling, core handling, and modeling teams.

You will contribute to the full resource evaluation workflow, with opportunities to develop technical capability on a major underground deposit while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work underground, including rotating or night shifts.
• Ability to work with diverse technical, operational and contractor teams.
• Proficiency with geoscience databases like acQuire.
• Ability to meet productivity targets in a dynamic project environment.
• Valid driver’s license and site access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect high quality geologic, geotechnical, and drilling data.
• Log and QAQC core; manage daily core inflows.
• Support and supervise drilling operations and reinforce safe work practices.
• Interpret drill core, core scanning outputs, and downhole data.
• Conduct underground mapping, LIDAR scanning, and sampling.
• Synthesize and communicate geologic interpretations for models.
• Prepare daily and periodic reports on drilling progress and data collection.
• Update geologic and drilling databases, reports, and diagrams.
