The General Foreman is a skilled position in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems. The General Foreman ensures projects are completed in a safe and timely manner. Effectively plans ahead anticipating issues and project needs in order to accomplish company and crew goals. Provides optimum customer service to his employees and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must possess a working knowledge of all aspects of line work.
  • Must possess working knowledge of leadership and management skills.
  • Capable of leading and training lower skilled employees in safe and productive procedures.
  • Responsible for complying with Company reporting procedures and completing required Company paperwork.
  • Responsible for coordinating and inspecting the work of crew members.
  • Interact with employees, customers, and the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and abilities by participating in continuing education activities.
  • Adhere to safety and performance standards.
  • Maintain time and material records for the assigned job.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the electrical services industry required.
  • Complete OSHA 30 Safety Training Program within 90 days.
  • CDL class A license preferred; must acquire CDL beginners permit within 60 days.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; must be very detail oriented.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to understand plans/blueprints to ensure projects meet all building/code requirements.
  • Proven success in meeting critical deadlines under stressful conditions.

Working conditions/Physical Requirements/Travel
  • Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions and possible confined space.
  • All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English.
  • Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling.
  • Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment.
  • Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.
  • Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as dictated by position.

  • Travel required. Ability to work on-call, irregular hours, and emergency response.
