C.J. Hughes Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Gas Distribution Heavy Equipment Operator to join our crew in Huntington, WV.

The role involves operating excavators, skid steers, loaders and other heavy equipment on underground utility projects, with focus on safe work around utilities and precise trenching and pipe placement. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of heavy equipment experience, the ability to follow DOT/OSHA safety policies, pass drug test and background checks, and be willing

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Experience in gas distribution or underground utility construction preferred.
• Must pass drug test, background check and have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrains.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, skid steers, loaders and other equipment safely.
• Excavate around utilities while following locator markings.
• Assist with trenching, pipe installation, backfilling and site prep.
• Follow DOT/OSHA safety policies and maintain equipment inspections.
• Travel as required; support crew operations and maintain productivity.
