Job summary

CK Contractors and Development LLC seeks an Underground Fiber Optic Laborer to support installation and maintenance of underground fiber infrastructure. This role requires hands-on, physically demanding work, trenching, conduit installation, and cable placement, with emphasis on safety and teamwork in outdoor settings.

The position values dependability, the ability to follow directions, and cooperation with crew members and supervisors on busy job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior construction, fiber optic, or underground utility experience is helpful but not mandatory.
• Willingness to learn and follow directions in a fast-paced work environment.
• Basic knowledge of construction practices and tools.
• Knowledge of fiber optic color codes is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical labor related to underground fiber optic construction, including trenching, backfilling, laying conduit, and pulling fiber optic cable.
• Assist with job site setup and cleanup, including locating and verifying existing utilities using maps, markings, and flagging.
• Operate and assist with construction tools and equipment as directed; use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies, including participation in daily safety meetings and proper use of required PPE.
• Assist with basic maintenance and care of tools and equipment.
