Job summary

InterCon Construction is seeking workers to install underground telecommunications and fiber optic cables in various sites. You will prepare work areas, locate utilities, and assist operators with equipment movement, while loading materials and following safety standards.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL, willingness to travel, and the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly; prior underground utilities or fiber optic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Willingness to travel.
• Able to bend, kneel, stand and walk for long periods.
• Able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in underground utilities preferred.
• Experience installing fiber optic cables preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate hazards.
• Signal operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Excavate and fill trenches and ditches.
• Install underground telecommunications cable/innerduct.
• Follow safety standards throughout process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
