Job summary

Uniti is seeking a Buried Drop Technician to install buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drops from the hub to customers’ homes. Overnight travel may be required; this is a safety-sensitive role with opportunities to contribute to service delivery and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will handle physical installation tasks, operate trenching equipment, and promote Kinetic products while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 70 pounds.
• Willingness to travel overnight, including out of state.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Basic technology and math skills.
• Ability to distinguish colors in color-coded cable.

Responsibilities

• Perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber & coaxial drop cable to connect the network to the customer’s residence.
• Use technical knowledge and customer focus to create meaningful connections.
• Interpret work drawings and instructions and complete paperwork.
• Sell and promote Kinetic products and services.
• Train new employees on daily job functions.
• Operate hand-held computer for tasks and updates.
• Perform locates on underground facilities as applicable.
• Operate trenching and boring equipment for burying cable.
