Job summary

Kinetic, a Uniti business unit, is hiring a Buried Drop Technician to perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drop cable from the hub to customers’ homes. Overnight travel may be required based on business needs.

The role emphasizes customer-focused service, technical execution, and adherence to safety protocols as a safety-sensitive position. Candidates must be able to work OT and pass required training including out-of-state travel.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk 1/2 mile+ while operating a drop plow.
• Willingness to work schedule including overtime, callouts, and standby.
• Strong basic technology and math skills.
• Ability to distinguish colors in cable.
• Valid driver’s license with safe record.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drop cable to connect the network to customers’ residences.
• Use technical expertise and customer focus to build meaningful connections with customers.
• Read and interpret work drawings and instructions; complete required paperwork.
• Sell and promote Kinetic products and services.
• Train new employees on daily job functions.
• Operate hand-held computer for task retrieval and clearance.
• Perform locates on underground facilities as applicable during tasks.
• Operate trenching and boring equipment for burying cable.
• Complete all other assigned tasks.
