Job summary
International Minerals Carlsbad LLC is seeking a safety-focused Mine Belt Person to support the operation and reliability of its underground conveyor system. This role inspects, repairs, maintains and cleans conveyors and related equipment to keep the mine running safely.
The ideal candidate has underground belt experience, understands safe rigging techniques, and demonstrates sound judgment, initiative and dependability in a demanding underground environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of underground conveyor systems and belt-maintenance practices.
- Ability to demonstrate safe and effective rigging techniques.
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and manage hazards in an underground mine environment.
- Proficient with belt-splicing tools and power tools.
- Strong planning, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, repair, and clean underground conveyor systems.
- Identify and correct safety hazards and equipment concerns.
- Troubleshoot conveyor-system problems and complete repairs.
- Perform belt splicing and related maintenance activities.
- Assist with conveyor installations, extensions, and equipment relocation.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment and follow company safety rules.
