Job summary

Spectrum is seeking a Construction Technician to help build and maintain our network infrastructure. The role involves outdoor work, safety compliance, and collaboration with field teams to ensure reliable connectivity for communities.

You will travel between territories, work indoors/outdoors in all weather, and support various construction projects while adhering to Spectrum’s standards and a strong commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Requires close and peripheral vision and ability to differentiate wire sizes and colors.
• Ability to carry, climb and operate ladders up to 28 feet and 75 pounds as needed.
• Ability to climb poles using gaffs, hooks and climbing belt with 350-pound weight limit.
• Ability to travel between territories and facilities in inclement weather using a company vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications.
• Ability to complete documentation accurately.
• Valid driver’s license meeting Spectrum’s standards.

Responsibilities

• Dig and restore holes and trenches, bury conduit and cables to support network construction.
• Pull lasher, strand and cable between poles to build aerial network infrastructure.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Understand and follow safety requirements and standards while supporting various construction projects

Working Conditions

• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, day or night, including in poorly ventilated areas
• Stand 50-70% of the time, carry and operate extension ladders, and climb poles as required
• Travel weekly with overnight stays as business needs dictate
• Work overtime, weekends or second shifts and participate in on‑call rotation as needed
