Job summary

The University of Louisville is seeking an Academic Advisor II at Belknap Campus to provide holistic, individualized academic advising to undergraduate students. You will empower students to navigate curriculum, policies, and degree requirements while promoting success and retention.

You will collaborate with advisors, faculty, and campus offices, applying advising theory and institutional knowledge to support diverse student needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide assigned students in their academic success from orientation to commencement in general routine issues, collaborating with their supervisor on more complex issues.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across campus, including other advisors, faculty, campus offices, and administrators.
• Explain, interpret, and apply unit and University policies, procedures, and program requirements.
• Counsel students in analyzing their unique causes of academic difficulty and recommend typically pre-established guidelines.
• Empower students to plan their academic program, audit student progress toward degree completion, and certify degree requirements.
• Assist students in the selection of majors and minors appropriate to their interests, backgrounds, and academic qualifications.
