Job summary

Fitchburg State University is seeking a part-time, student-only Recreation Services assistant for Intramural Sports. The role supports officiating events, attending clinics, and ensuring a safe, engaging experience for campus users.

Requirements include current FSU undergraduate status, knowledge of intramural programs, and CPR/AED certification or eligibility. Flexible Sunday-Thursday evenings and non-benefited hourly work at $15.00 per hour are offered.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the Recreation Center and Intramural Sports programs.
• Basic knowledge of various sports and the rules surrounding the sport.
• CPR/AED certification (can be attained through internal trainings).
• Current undergraduate student at Fitchburg State University.

Responsibilities

• Officiate various Intramural Sports events and activities.
• Attend training meetings and clinics for Intramural Sports.
• Learn rules and mechanics of a wide variety of Intramural Sports.
• Provide excellent customer service to all users.
• Maintain game control and safety during Intramural Sports activities.
• Complete all forms and follow all procedures as pre-determined by Recreation Services staff.
• Must be on time and in proper apparel prior to start of scheduled shift.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of Intramural Sports venues and activities.
• Assist with risk management evaluations prior and during Intramural Sports.
• Respond to staff internal communication in a timely and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

This is a part-time, non-benefited student only position. Schedulevaries and the hourly rate is $15.00.
