Job summary

Fairleigh Dickinson University seeks an experienced Academic Advising professional to provide advisement to undergraduates within a designated academic vertical. The role partners with faculty and campus leaders to optimize student success and retention.

The incumbent reports to the Campus Director of Academic Advising and Student Success, Florham and may require evenings or weekends. A Bachelor’s degree and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
Minimum of two years of experience in an academic environment preferred.
Excellent human relations and oral and written communication skills.
Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, Access; Canvas X16 and Colleague are a plus.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Willing and able to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends.
Valid driver’s license and access to a car for travel to campuses if needed.
Background check required.

Responsibilities

Engage in all student advisement services for undergraduates within an assigned academic vertical.
Collaborate with faculty and department leadership to maximize student support.
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of student records and data.
