Job summary

SDSU Research Foundation is seeking a student contractor to provide analytical and technical support for PFAS ecotoxicology studies in Marine Biology, Oceanography, Biology, Engineering and Chemistry.

Undergraduate I or III students will assist with field/lab work, data processing, and reporting while maintaining lab facilities. Availability is 20 hours per week near SDSU in California.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate I: First year or sophomore level with understanding of the discipline; training and supervision provided.
• Undergraduate III: Senior level; must have course work in requested discipline and meet most task requirements.
• Undergraduate I/III: coursework in Marine Biology, Biology, Engineering, Environmental Science and/or Chemistry.
• Advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and common statistical software required.

Responsibilities

• Mobilize and prepare equipment for field and lab testing.
• Assist in running toxicity and bioaccumulation tests.
• Assist in processing samples and data collected.
• Perform data analysis using Excel and statistical software.
• Maintain laboratory facilities and test organisms/cultures.
• Conduct literature searches and assist in report preparation.
