Job summary

SDSU Research Foundation is seeking an undergraduate student to provide analytical and technical support for environmental monitoring projects. The role involves preparing samples, running LC/MS analyses for PCBs, PAHs, PFAS, and performing ICP-MS measurements for trace metals in various matrices.

You will also process data with Xcalibur/Chromeleon and assist in report generation. Candidates must be a senior in a related field, able to work up to 20 hours per week, and meet DoD security

Qualifications

Undergraduate student in a relevant discipline as per task order.
Senior level coursework and ability to complete 90% of the work independently.

Responsibilities

Mobilize and prepare equipment for field and lab testing.
Perform sample prep, digestions, extractions, and LC/MS analysis for contaminants (PCBs, PAHs, PFAS).
Process data with Xcalibur, Chromeleon, and Compound Discoverer.
Maintain clean lab space and assist ICP-MS analysis for metals and mercury.
Perform data analysis using Excel and statistical software.
Keep facilities and meters calibrated and maintained.
Conduct literature searches and assist in report preparation.
