Job summary

San Diego State University Research Foundation invites Undergraduate I or Undergraduate III students to join the NIWC PFAS ecotoxicity and bioaccumulation project in San Diego, CA. This student position pays hourly rates of $17.75 (Undergraduate I) or $19.67 (Undergraduate III) and requires up to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities include equipment readiness, running standardized toxicity and bioaccumulation tests, sample processing, data analysis in Excel, and literature review.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate I: First Year or Sophomore level, basic understanding, training needed.
• Undergraduate III: Senior level, 100% of task requirements, able to work independently 90% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Mobilize and prepare equipment for field and lab testing.
• Assist in running standardized toxicity and bioaccumulation testing.
• Assist in processing samples and data collected.
• Perform data analysis using Excel and statistical software.
• Maintain laboratory facilities and test organisms/cultures.
• Conduct literature searches and assist in report preparation.
