Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico is seeking an undergraduate student for an internship in the Photovoltaics & Materials Tech Department. You will assist in synthesis, characterization of materials, and analysis of electrochemical performance for battery-related research.

Ideal candidates are pursuing science, engineering, or math majors, attending full-time, with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0, and able to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year or up to 40 hours in the summer.

Qualifications

• Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program.
• Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S.
• Note: If you have not earned a HS diploma or equivalent, please apply to a high school intern position.

Responsibilities

• Assisting technical staff with developmental research and analysis of technology and engineering options.
• Project design, testing, and data collection; analyzing experimental data.
• Documentation of all preparations using approved record keeping methods (i.e. SNL Lab Notebook).
• Assistance in lab setup, general lab maintenance, inventory, dishes, cleaning, ordering, etc. as needed.
