Job summary

Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG) is seeking Tobacco Retail Inspectors to perform FDA tobacco compliance checks across Alaska. The role involves supervising Underage Purchasers during non-confrontational inspections and collecting data to assess retailer compliance with FDA rules.

This part-time position requires conducting regular inspections, compiling evidence, and reporting any violations while adhering to strict regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Background check required.
• Experience performing inspections and compliance checks preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform compliance inspections at tobacco retailers and complete inspection forms.
• Prepare narrative reports detailing potential compliance issues or violations.
• Collect evidence (photography, tobacco products) and ship to FDA for enforcement.
• Coordinate undercover purchases with Underage Purchasers.
• Conduct follow-up inspections to verify compliance and address complaints.
• Adhere to regulations while working with Underage Purchasers and trainees.
• Complete required online training courses.
• Travel to assigned locations as needed to perform checks.
• Willingness to testify at enforcement hearings.
