Job summary

GardaWorld Federal Services in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a full-time security professional to safeguard the external perimeter of an immigration processing facility. You will monitor access, operate surveillance and communication systems, and respond decisively to incidents to maintain a secure environment.

Responsibilities include patrols, incident reporting, and coordination with processing staff for safe resident movements.

Qualifications

• Active Texas unarmed security/Level II license required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant security experience.
• Must provide proof of citizenship or US work authorization.
• If prior active-duty military, provide DD214 showing discharge.
• Consent to fingerprinting.
• Proficient reading, writing, and speaking English.
• At least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean criminal record and ability to pass a background check and security screening.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical assessment and drug screening.
• Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in high-stress situations.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the processing center's external perimeters, including buildings, grounds, and access points.
• Monitor and control access to the processing center, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter.
• Operate and monitor security equipment, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and communication devices, reporting any suspicious activity or breaches to processing staff.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, disturbances, or security breaches, working with processing staff to de-escalate situations and assist with approved physical interventions if necessary.
• Perform thorough searches of vehicles, packages, and individuals entering or exiting the center as per established protocols.
• Assist processing staff with secure movement of residents within the center, maintaining vigilance and adherence to procedures.
• Prepare detailed and accurate reports on incidents, observations, and daily security activities.
• Collaborate with processing staff and other personnel to ensure a secure and orderly environment.

Pay: $23.09/hr. ($18.00/hr. base rate + $5.09 H&W)

You must possess sharp observational skills and the ability to respond decisively to security breaches or critical incidents to maintain a secure environment.

• Must consent to fingerprinting.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check and security screening.
• Ability to pass a preemployment medical assessment and drug screening.
• Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.

Work Environment: Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Physical Requirements: Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
