Job summary

Allied Universal is actively seeking a Security Officer for a full-time unarmed patrol role in Chesapeake, VA. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and support access control, while providing excellent customer service and clear communication.

The position emphasizes security procedures, incident response, and documentation of patrols and incidents at a technology-focused site. Applicants should be 18+ and able to pass background checks and a drug screen where permitted.

Qualifications

• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• Guard Card/License is preferred.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations calmly and escalate via site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and report irregular conditions or suspicious activity.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrols, incidents, and other security observations.
