Security Engineers is seeking dedicated Unarmed Security Officers for the 3rd shift in Birmingham, AL. Officers patrol, monitor access points, verify IDs, respond to alarms, and maintain logs to deter incidents through vigilance and proactive engagement.

This full-time role requires professionalism and calm under pressure. Training is provided at the state minimum wage where allowed by law; weekend availability and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

Must have or obtain a valid security officer license as required by the state.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Alabama Security Regulatory Board License preferred; able to obtain licenses.

Responsibilities

Patrol & Surveillance: Conduct walking patrols to identify safety concerns and report them.
Incident Response & Reporting: Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol; maintain logs.
Customer Service & Policy Enforcement: Assist visitors and employees; enforce site post orders and policies.
Duties & Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with client policies (smoking, loitering, parking).

Officers play a vital role in deterring incidents through visibility, vigilance, and proactive engagement. Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring access points, verifying identification, responding to alarms/emergencies, and maintaining detailed logs. This role requires professionalism, strong observational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have or obtain a Valid Security Officer/Guard License as required by the state licensing authority
Must be at least 18 years old

Duties & Responsibilities

Patrol & Surveillance

Conduct walking patrols to identify and report safety concerns
Monitor access points; verify IDs and credentials
Monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activity

Incident Response & Reporting

Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol
Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents
Perform routine security tasks (e.g., locking/unlocking doors)

Customer Service & Policy Enforcement

Assist visitors and employees professionally
Enforce site-specific Post Orders and security protocols
Ensure compliance with SEI and client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking)
