Security Engineers, Inc. in Birmingham, AL seeks an Armed Patrol Security Officer for 3rd shift.

You will safeguard people and property through patrols, access control, surveillance, and emergency response while carrying a firearm and maintaining professional customer service. Requirements include HS Diploma, 21+, valid ASRB Security License or ability to obtain, armed training, pistol permit, valid driver's license, and 1+ year security/military/law enforcement experience.

Qualifications

Must have or be able to obtain a valid ASRB Security License.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must complete armed training and maintain a pistol permit.
Valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record meeting company standards.
Education: HS Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1+ year security, military or law enforcement preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform regular patrols to enhance safety and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points, verify IDs and credentials.
Enforce procedures per Security Post Instructions.
Respond to alarms, emergencies and incidents per protocol.
Maintain logs of activities and observations.
Lock/unlock doors, manage security systems and surveillance.

Armed Patrol Security Officer

$15.04-$16.00/Hr.

Role:

An Armed Patrol Security Officer safeguards people and property through patrols, access control, surveillance monitoring, and emergency response, while carrying a firearm, exercising sound judgment, completing reports, coordinating with law enforcement, and providing professional customer service in compliance with all licensing and legal requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have or be able to obtain a valid ASRB Security License
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must complete armed training and maintain a valid pistol permit
Valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company approved driver standards

Duties & Responsibilities:

Security Operations

Perform regular patrols to enhance safety and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points, verify IDs and credentials.
Enforce procedures per Security Post Instructions.
Respond swiftly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol.
Maintain accurate logs of activities and observations.
Execute routine tasks: locking/unlocking doors, managing security systems, and monitoring surveillance.

Customer Service & Professionalism

Assist visitors and employees, addressing concerns professionally.
Enforce SEI and Client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking).
Maintain a clean, pressed uniform and professional appearance.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
Availability to work weekends.
Strong situational awareness and curiosity.
Ability to stay calm and problem-solve in critical situations.
Basic computer skills; able to use a tablet for reporting.

Preferred:

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Minimum Physical Requirements With or Without reasonable accommodation

Education & Experience :
