Security Engineers, Inc. is seeking a part-time Security Officer for 3rd shift in Birmingham, AL. The role involves patrolling, monitoring access points, and enforcing site policies to ensure safety and compliance.

Training is provided at state minimum wage where allowed, with opportunities to grow within a respected private security provider. Qualifications include a valid Alabama security license (or ability to obtain), clear driving record, and proficiency with Windows Office.

Qualifications

Knowledge of Windows Office or app-based technology for digital check-in/out of trucks.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license and MVR meeting company standards.

Responsibilities

Patrol and surveillance to identify and report safety concerns.
Respond to alarms, emergencies and incidents per protocol; maintain logs.
Assist visitors and employees professionally; enforce site policies.

Employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of a post-offer background investigation and a drug screen. Because this position supports safety-sensitive licensed private security operations, a criminal background check may be required by law.

Pay: $16.50-$17.50/hour

Position Summary :

This position requires attention to detail and a sense of responsibility. Additional training will be required but will be completed on the job.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have or be able to obtain a Valid Security License as required by the state of Alabama
Must have knowledge of Windows Office or other app-based technology as our officers have to use a digital platform to check in and out trucks.
Must be at least 21 years old
Valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company approved driver standards

Duties and Responsibilities

Patrol & Surveillance

Conduct walking and vehicle patrols to identify and report safety concerns
Monitor access points; verify IDs and credentials
Monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activity

Incident Response & Reporting

Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol
Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents
Perform routine security tasks (e.g., locking/unlocking doors)

Customer Service & Policy Enforcement

Assist visitors and employees professionally
Enforce site-specific Post Orders and security protocols
Ensure compliance with SEI and client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking)

Physical Requirements

(subject to change based on client-specific needs)

Stand/sit for at least 1 hour without break Walk a minimum of ½ mile without stopping
Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping
Must be able to work outside during majority of shift in all conditions.

Education & Experience

Minimum

High School Diploma or equivalent
1+ years verifiable Military, Law Enforcement or Security Experience

Preferred

3+ years verifiable Military, Law Enforcement or Security Experience
