Job summary

Security Engineers, Inc. is seeking dedicated Unarmed Security Officers for a temporary, weekend-focused role in Alabama. Officers will patrol facilities, monitor access, verify IDs, respond to alarms, and maintain incident logs, delivering professional security services to our clients.

Availability for weekend shifts is required, with potential overtime during outages or holidays. The position offers paid training where allowed by state law and opportunities for conversion to a permanent role

Qualifications

Must have or obtain a Valid Security Officer/Guard License as required by the state licensing authority
Must be at least 18 years old
Weekend availability
Able to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Stand/walk for extended periods and remain alert during shifts

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Overview

Security Engineers is seeking dedicated Unarmed Security Officers to help maintain safe and secure environments for our clients. Officers play a vital role in deterring incidents through visibility, vigilance, and proactive engagement. Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring access points, verifying identification, responding to alarms/emergencies, and maintaining detailed logs. This role requires professionalism, strong observational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have or obtain a Valid Security Officer/Guard License as required by the state licensing authority
Must be at least 18 years old

Patrol & Surveillance

Conduct walking patrols to identify and report safety concerns
Monitor access points; verify IDs and credentials
Monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activity

Incident Response & Reporting

Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol
Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents
Perform routine security tasks (e.g., locking/unlocking doors)

Customer Service & Policy Enforcement

Assist visitors and employees professionally
Enforce site-specific Post Orders and security protocols
Ensure compliance with SEI and client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking)

Required Skills & Abilities

Minimum

Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Weekend availability
Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills
Ability to remain calm and effective in critical situations
Basic computer skills; ability to use tablets for reporting

Preferred

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements With or Without reasonable accommodation (subject to change based on client-specific needs)

Stand/sit for at least 1 hour without break
Walk a minimum of ½ mile without stopping
Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping

Education & Experience

Minimum

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred

1+ Year of Verifiable Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience
2+ years of verifiable customer service experience
