Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas; verify credentials as assigned; and maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, law enforcement, emergency responders, and the public while helping to maintain orderly operations at the location.
