A leading healthcare organization seeks a Security Officer to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. The position involves enforcing policies, responding to crises, and conducting patrols. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and the ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays. Training for required certifications will be provided.
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The purpose of this position is to monitor all activities throughout BVHS to ensure a safe, secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent activities in running, walking, lifting, bending, squatting, twisting and climbing stairs. The associate will be required to stand for eight hours a day on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet). Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift. Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties.
Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks. Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination. Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones. Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat. Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments. . Must respond quickly and calmly to sensitive where individuals may be exhibiting negative or threatening behavior. They must react swiftly to emergencies, be able to defend self or others if attacked, deal with disoriented or unruly persons, and be able to work in an environment where blood and body trauma exists. Able to physically restrain out of control individuals. The individual must be able to lift twenty to fifty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The position requires excellent verbal skills to perform daily tasks.
This position is classified 'at risk' for possible occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens (HBV, HIV, etc.)
