Job summary

Global Secure 3 is seeking experienced Unarmed Event Security Guards to join our on-call flex roster in San Francisco. You will provide a visible, welcoming security presence at events, manage entry points, monitor crowds, and respond calmly to incidents while delivering exceptional guest service.

Ideal candidates have prior event security experience, a current California Guard Card, and are legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Active California Guard Card (BSIS) required at time of application.
• Prior event security experience (concerts, conferences, sporting events, festivals, corporate or private events).
• Strong customer service skills with a calm, friendly, professional attitude under pressure.
• Ability to arrive on time to event assignments throughout San Francisco. All event assignments are located in the city.
• Minimum 18 years of age (required for a California Guard Card).
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible, professional, and approachable security presence throughout each event.
• Manage entry points by checking tickets, credentials, wristbands, and guest lists, and conducting bag checks according to event procedures.
• Monitor crowds, lines, and guest flow, identifying and reporting suspicious activity, safety hazards, and policy violations.
• Respond quickly and calmly to incidents, including medical situations, disturbances, lost guests, and emergencies, and escalate to supervisors and emergency services as needed.
• De-escalate conflicts with courtesy and professionalism, keeping the guest experience positive whenever possible.
• Assist guests with directions, questions, and accessibility needs, acting as a helpful point of contact for the client.
• Support event setup, guest arrival, and venue clearing at the end of the event.
• Document incidents and observations accurately in activity and incident reports.
• Follow all GS3 policies, client post orders, event-specific instructions, and applicable California laws and regulations.

We partner with clients across technology, finance, healthcare, retail, and hospitality to protect people, property, and experiences.

Events are where our officers are most visible. From corporate conferences and product launches to private gatherings and large public events, GS3 officers are often the first and last people guests interact with. We are growing our San Francisco event team and are looking for experienced Unarmed Event Security Guards to join our on-call flex roster.

The Role

This is an on-call flex position for officers who have worked events before and know what it takes. Event security requires two skills at once: staying alert and ready to act on any security concern, and delivering warm, patient customer service to every guest who walks through the door.

The right person can greet hundreds of guests with a smile, answer the same question for the fiftieth time with the same patience, and still notice the one situation that needs attention. When something happens, you stay calm, act quickly, and follow procedure.

Required Qualifications

• Active California Guard Card (BSIS): Required at time of application. Candidates without a current Guard Card will not be considered.
• Prior event security experience (concerts, conferences, sporting events, festivals, corporate or private events).
• Strong customer service skills and a calm, friendly, professional attitude under pressure.
• Ability to arrive on time to event assignments throughout San Francisco. All event assignments are located in the city.
• Minimum 18 years of age (required for a California Guard Card).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass a background check, conducted only after a conditional offer of employment and in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act and the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with crowd management, access control, or large-venue operations.
• Background in hospitality, customer service, law enforcement, or the military.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.

Physical and Schedule Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods, including long event shifts, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to climb stairs and move quickly through crowded areas, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Availability for varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
• Adherence to GS3 uniform and grooming standards, which are applied in compliance with California law, including protections for natural hairstyles and religious dress and grooming practices.
