Qualifications

• Two years of verifiable experience as an Unarmed Security Officer.
• Must possess Maryland Unarmed Security Guard Card / Permit.
• Read, write and communicate clearly in English with detailed reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage access at entrances/exits, verify credentials, log approvals.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor surveillance systems.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies; file DARs and logs.
• Administer First Aid when required until responders arrive.
• Use radios and tools to transmit operational updates.
• Maintain licensing, credentials, and adhere to post orders.
• Perform other site-specific duties as assigned.

Job Skills / Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Access Control & Monitoring: Manage access at designated entrances and exits; verify credentials and log visitors, employees, and vehicles in accordance with contract guidelines.
• Patrol & Surveillance: Conduct regular foot/mobile patrols of interior, exterior, and perimeter areas; monitor surveillance systems to identify and address security disruptions or unlawful activities.
• Incident Response & Reporting: Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies; complete detailed, professional daily activity reports (DARs) and incident logs.
• Emergency Assistance: Administer CPR or basic First Aid when required until emergency services arrive.
• Communications: Utilize two-way radios and corporation communication tools to transmit clear, concise, and professional operational updates.
• Contract Compliance: Maintain active licensing and credentials, ensuring strict adherence to post orders, company rules, and client directives.
• Additional Duties: Perform other site-specific duties as assigned by the On-Site Supervisor or Project Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Licensing: Must possess a current and valid Maryland Unarmed Security Guard Card / Permit.
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable experience as an Unarmed Security Officer in a commercial or government setting.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (Associate’s Degree preferred).
• Language & Communication: Proficient ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language clearly; strong written skills for detailed incident reporting.
• Customer Service: Strong customer-service orientation with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients, visitors, and team members.
• Operational Knowledge: Solid understanding of security industry standards, access control procedures, and emergency protocol execution.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ability to interpret, explain, and consistently apply contract rules, site regulations, and post orders.
