Unarmed School Security Officer

Cardinal Point Security Group is building a team of Security Officers who will facilitate a safe learning environment and keep students, staff, and faculty safe from violence.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Location: Bethlehem, PA 18018

Schedule:
1. Monday to Friday - 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
2. Monday to Friday - 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
These are 10-month positions, with 2 months off during the summer. Schedule includes regular school hours and occasional after-school events.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador: Be on time. Look sharp in proper uniform. Be engaged. Be consistent.
• Coach and mentor students.
• Incident management and de-escalation.
• Maintain orderly flow of foot traffic in the hallways.
• Monitor restrooms throughout the day.
• Report maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalism (up to 10,000 steps per day).
• Stand for up to four hours per day.
• Act as first responder for emergencies.
• Stand post at secondary locations as required.
• Identify and report suspicious activity.
• Cultivate positive relationships with staff and students.
• Access control.
• Monitor CCTV.

Basic Qualifications:

• As a condition of employment, all candidates must pass a mandatory drug test.
• Minimum 2 years of security experience working in a school environment, or have experience as a sworn police officer, military, or corrections officer.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Obtain required clearances for working in school.
• No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.
• Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access).
• Ability to comprehend and utilize the English language (verbal and written).
• Reliable means of transportation.
• Must possess a customer-focused, professional, and courteous demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a sworn municipal, state, or federal police officer OR military MP, military MA, Air Force security forces, OR federal, state or municipal corrections officer.
• Valid driver’s license.
