Sentry Force Security in Richmond, VA is seeking Unarmed Roving Security Officers to patrol assigned areas and maintain a visible security presence throughout the shift.

Officers will conduct foot and vehicle patrols, perform security checks, monitor for suspicious activity, and provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, and the public. This active role requires alert, independent work and strict adherence to post orders.

Competenze

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license or equivalent.
• Ability to pass background investigation and obtain Virginia DCJS credentials.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, and patrol for extended periods.

Sentry Force Security is seeking professional, dependable, and highly observant Unarmed Roving Security Officers to provide security and safety coverage throughout assigned areas in the Richmond, VA area. This is an active patrol position that requires officers to regularly move throughout assigned locations, conduct security checks, monitor for unusual or suspicious activity, and maintain a visible security presence.

The Roving Security Officer will be responsible for protecting people, property, buildings, and designated areas while providing professional customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public. Officers must remain alert and attentive throughout their shifts and be comfortable working independently while following established post orders and security procedures.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys an active work environment and prefers a role that involves patrolling and moving throughout an assigned area rather than remaining stationed at one post for an entire shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout assigned areas
• Rove between designated buildings, facilities, parking areas, entrances, and other assigned locations
• Maintain a highly visible security presence throughout the property
• Conduct regular security checks of doors, gates, entrances, exits, restricted areas, and other designated locations
• Observe and identify unusual, suspicious, or potentially unsafe activity
• Respond promptly to security concerns, incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance
• Monitor individuals entering and exiting designated areas when required
• Enforce established access-control procedures and site-specific security policies
• Identify and report safety hazards, property damage, unsecured doors, lighting issues, and other facility concerns
• Assist with maintaining a safe and orderly environment
• Provide professional assistance and customer service to employees, visitors, and the public
• Maintain communication with supervisors and other security personnel
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation
• Document security-related incidents clearly, accurately, and objectively
• Follow all company policies, site-specific post orders, and supervisor instructions
• Maintain confidentiality regarding security operations and information
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations and immediately notify the appropriate personnel
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid Virginia driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a required background investigation
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain required Virginia DCJS credentials
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain alert and attentive for the duration of the shift
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, and patrol for extended periods
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Professional appearance and demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security experience
• Previous roving, mobile, patrol, or public safety experience
• Military or law enforcement experience
• Experience working in a large facility or multi-building environment
• Strong customer service experience
• Current Virginia DCJS Unarmed Security Officer registration
