Prosegur is seeking Unarmed Retail Security Officers on a part-time basis in Oxon Hill, MD. Officers will patrol, monitor checkpoints, and maintain a safe indoor environment for clients, customers, and staff.

The role requires a Maryland Security Guard License, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to stand or walk for long periods. Availability for all shifts and reliable transportation are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have a valid Maryland Security Guard License.
• 1 year of security officer experience preferred, especially retail security.
• Open availability to work all shifts and schedules as needed.
• Must have reliable transportation and good communications skills.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods and to climb stairs daily.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Guard, patrol, and monitor premises to prevent hazards, theft, violence, or rule infractions.
• Enforce rules and respond to emergencies requiring security assistance.
• Escort individuals as needed and provide protection or removal from property.
• Write detailed narrative reports and daily activity reports (DARs).
• Provide courteous assistance to customers, employees, and visitors.
• Monitor for irregular or unusual activity; secure facilities.

The person in this position will maintain a safe and secure indoor environment for clients, customers, contractors and other workers by patrolling, tagging indicated checkpoints, monitoring premises, writing a detailed DAR entry and occasionally performing search procedures.

• Secure facility and designated areas
• Enforce facility and company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have a valid Maryland Security Guard License
• Must have one (1) year of experience as a security officer, preference to those with prior retail security experience.
• Must have open availability to work all shifts and schedules as needed
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have good communications skills
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Must be able to walk/run flights of stairs on a daily basis.
• Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
• Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior

Physical Requirements: This position requires significant physical activity throughout the shift. Officers must be able to:

• Walk and stand for extended periods (including completing multiple rounds and patrols of up to 1–2 miles per shift)
• Frequently climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required by site patrol routes
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Maintain alertness and situational awareness during all patrols
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
