Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist (Harmonized) for the Anderson Medical Arts Building II. The role performs ultrasound procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.

You will provide direct patient care with compassion and timeliness under Radiology leadership. Responsibilities include patient assessment, explaining procedures, obtaining histories, documenting findings, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ultrasonography program and ARDMS/ARRT registry eligible (required)
• ARDMS/ARRT registration or eligibility (required)
• Advanced modality registration in Ultrasound preferred or must obtain within 2 years
• 1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of direct patient care by evaluating the patient, verifying patient ID, and related information to assure appropriate procedure is performed
• Explains procedure to patient; prepares patient for procedure by obtaining and recording patient history and consent form (if applicable)
• Ensures patient comfort, privacy, and safety during procedure; monitors condition of patient and equipment and reports changes
• Documents sonographer's impressions and relays findings to physician
• Obtains and records images to demonstrate findings; records patient histories and lab values; demonstrates competency across age groups
• Participates in performance improvement projects
• Supports audits by federal, state and local agencies
• Assists in education/instruction of students and orientation of new staff; high level disinfection per Joint Commission standards
• Proficient in various ultrasound modalities depending on anatomy; recognizes cross-sectional anatomy
• Promotes hospital values in daily work; maintains guest relations
• May perform other related patient care duties
