Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join the Ultrasound Unit. This full-time position offers 8-hour day shifts and requires graduation from an accredited ultrasound program with ARDMS certification and BLS.

The technologist performs diagnostic imaging and supports quality control within Radiology. The role includes serving patients across all ages, participating in call schedules, and acting as a resource for junior staff in a collaborative,

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a diagnostic ultrasound program approved by the AMA or equivalent education/experience.
  • Upon hire: ARDMS certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Upon hire: BLS certification by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures and related activities for patients of all ages.
  • Serve as a customer service representative to patients, families, staff and physicians.
  • Participate in quality control and organizational improvement activities.
  • Act as a clinical/technical resource for less experienced sonographers.
  • Participate in call schedule to meet department staffing needs.

Ultrasound Technologist in Ultrasound Unit at St Joseph Hospital Eureka. This position is Full time and will work 8-hour Day Shifts.

Under the direction of the Department Director, supervision of the Radiology Supervisor, and in collaboration with radiologists, the Ultrasound Technologist I performs clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures and related activities according to department standards for all patients served: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff. Participates in quality control and organizational improvement activities. Serves as a clinical/technical resource for less experienced sonographers. Participates in call schedule to meet staffing needs of the department.

Required Qualifications:
  • Coursework/Training Graduate of a program in diagnostic ultrasound approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association or equivalent education/experience or Completed equivalent training through self-study, on-the-job training, etc.

  • Upon hire: National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a hospital-based ultrasound technologist.
