Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist I to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging under supervision, across infant to geriatric patients. You will also serve as a patient liaison, participate in quality control, and support less experienced staff.

This role supports a team-driven radiology department within a large health system. Ideal candidates have completed an AMA-approved diagnostic ultrasound program, hold ARDMS and BLS credentials on hire, and

Qualifications

• Graduate of a diagnostic ultrasound program approved by the AMA committee or equivalent training/experience.
• ARDMS certification required upon hire.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures according to department standards for all patient ages.
• Serve as a customer service representative to patients, families, the public, and medical staff.
• Participate in quality control and organizational improvement activities; act as a resource for less experienced sonographers.

Under the direction of the Department Director, supervision of the Radiology Supervisor, and in collaboration with radiologists, the Ultrasound Technologist I performs clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures and related activities according to department standards for all patients served: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff. Participates in quality control and organizational improvement activities. Serves as a clinical/technical resource for less experienced sonographers. Participates in call schedule to meet staffing needs of the department.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training Graduate of a program in diagnostic ultrasound approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association or equivalent education/experience or Completed equivalent training through self-study, on-the-job training, etc.
• Upon hire: National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a hospital-based ultrasound technologist.
