Position: Ultrasound Technologist RVT - Specialist - Part Time

Talent Area: Radiology

We are searching for an Ultrasound Specialist RVT — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will prepare, administer, and document activities related to mediations in accordance with state regulations and institution policy. The Specialist acts as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and other support team members. The Specialist must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques. Responsibilities include patient care, documentation, quality control, quality improvement, and providing training, education, and mentoring to students, technologists, nursing staff, residents, fellows, and other staff.

Responsibilities:

  1. Check daily for adequate stock necessary to facilitate continuous exam flow and maintain inventory levels.
  2. Assess contraindications and risks related to procedures, including medication reactions, patient history, laboratory results, and artifacts.
  3. Provide information to patients, healthcare providers, students, and the public about the profession's role and responsibilities.
  4. Perform routine and complex ultrasound cases independently, demonstrating understanding of anatomy and pathology through proper imaging techniques.
  5. Ensure precise data entry and image management using appropriate technology such as EPIC and PACS.
  6. Perform procedures accurately, identify issues, and seek to gain expertise in technical areas.
  7. Conduct quality control activities on equipment and collaborate to resolve image quality issues.
  8. Participate in and lead continuing education, training, and review of professional publications.

Requirements:

  1. Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program.
  2. BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  3. RVT certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography within 18 months of starting the role.
  4. RDMS-AB, RDMS-OB, or RDMS-PS certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  5. RVS - Registered Vascular Specialist by Cardiovascular Credentialing International may substitute for the RVT requirement.
  6. At least 3 years of radiology experience across modalities.
