Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or Equivalency required.
• Graduate from an accredited school for Ultrasound Technologists.
• RDMS Certification (New Grads must acquire certification within 2 years of graduation date).
• 6 months experience preferred.

• Perform sonography exams ensuring that request conforms with doctor’s orders in patient’s chart.
• Explain process to patient and instructs and assists patient in assuming physical position for required exposure to ultrasonic waves.
• Select appropriate ultrasonic recording parameters for procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in recognizing abnormal conditions and report same to supervisor.
• Maintain appropriate records, statistics, and log.
• Provide for adequate inventory and equipment operation.

Job Description

The ultrasound technologist operates ultrasound diagnostic equipment to produce two-dimensional ultrasonic pattern and positive pictures of internal organs for use by professional personnel in diagnosis of disease, study of malfunction of organs, and prenatal examination of fetus and placenta.
