Job summary

A leading outpatient imaging center in Northeast Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Sonographer for a PRN position. The ideal candidate will perform sonographic procedures under the guidance of the Radiology Medical Director, ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulatory requirements. The role requires graduation from an accredited sonography program and registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. You will join a patient-focused team committed to excellent care and customer service.

Qualifications

• Up to 5 years experience as a licensed Sonographer.
• Must be registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) or ARRT (S).
• RVT certification required within one year of hire for certain centers.
• State licensure required for the practicing state.

Responsibilities

• Performs sonographic procedures as requested.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborates with the imaging center team for clinical improvement.

Join an energetic, patient-focused team! Jefferson Outpatient Imaging is currently seeking an experienced Sonographer for a PRN position at our outpatient imaging center located in our Bustleton location in Northeast Philadelphia. The days and hours vary during the week but Saturday and Sunday are 7:30am - 4pm.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the Sonographer:

• Performs sonographic procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice.

Requirements

Experience

• Up to 5 years experience as a licensed Sonographer.

Education

• Must be a graduate of an approved program of diagnostic sonography.

License/Certification

• Must be registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) or ARRT (S).
• For IDTF centers, OB, Abdominal, or General certification is required upon hire, and RVT certification is required within one year of hire.
• Non-IDTF centers require RVT certification along with OB, Abdominal or General within one year of hire, where applicable.
• Must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.

Skills/Abilities

• Skill in operation of Sonography equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
• Ability to work independently and multitask.
• Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
• Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
