Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital in Sarasota, FL is seeking a part-time Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) to join our imaging team. The role involves preparing and positioning patients, obtaining patient history, and performing ultrasound procedures with accuracy and teamwork.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, be ARDMS registered (RVT/AB/OB-GYN), and maintain a current BLS certification, with 1–3 years of prior ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

• Two-year Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• ARDMS registry with RVT, AB, or OB/GYN specialty.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 1-3 years previous experience as Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer).
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner.
• Obtain and document a complete patient history as it relates to the procedure ordered, and obtain informed consent in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
• Maintain statistical results for quality improvement.
• Communicate effectively with patient providing explanation of procedures within scope of practice and with radiologists regarding any unusual clinical findings, history, test results, etc.

Your tasks and responsibilities as Ultrasound Technologist include but are not limited to:
