Job Summary And Qualifications

Ultrasound Technologist - PRN/Per Diem

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking an Ultrasound Technologist on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As an Ultrasound Technologist or Sonographer, you will conduct and document ultrasound and/or vascular assessments on patients as ordered. You will perform procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner prioritizing patient care.

Your tasks and responsibilities as an Ultrasound Tech include but are not limited to:

  • Perform general and vascular ultrasound exams (abdomen, pelvis, small parts, peripheral vascular, carotid, TCD)
  • Assist the radiologist in ultrasound-guided procedures (i.e., paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy, aspiration)
  • Demonstrate concern and empathy while performing tests and procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner
  • Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures
  • Maintain proactive, effective communication with patient and physicians regarding any and all findings, patient histories and test results as appropriate
  • Collaborate and confer with all colleagues and members of the healthcare team

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers or Sonographers
  • Current ARDMS registry for Ultrasound: RDMS (Abdomen) and RVT, preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of one (1) year post-graduate hospital experience in an acute-care setting as an Ultrasound Tech (2+ years preferred)
  • Must meet hospital call-back requirements of 30 minutes
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
