General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is seeking a day shift PRN Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital - Ob/Gyn - Maternal Fetal Medicine.

The Ultrasound Technologist performs, under routine supervision, Ob/Gyn sonograms, biophysical profiles, non-stress tests, and AFIs. Assists with amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling procedures.

Primary Duties:
  1. Performs sonographic evaluations of fetal morphology, age, growth assessment, and color Doppler studies. Uses different scanning modalities as required by the patient's condition and/or requested examination.
  2. Evaluates images for quality, photographs appropriate images utilizing multiformat cameras, and may access, manipulate, store, and print digital images. Reviews processed images with physicians.
  3. Enters data to generate sonographic reports. Coordinates with physicians, nursing staff, and schedulers to ensure timely patient care.
  4. Assists in training and educating patients, employees, physicians, students, and other healthcare professionals.
  5. Cleans and sterilizes equipment and procedure tables before and after procedures. May be responsible for inventory control and purchasing of supplies for the area.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED or graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound.
  • 1-2 years of experience in OB/GYN ultrasound.
  • RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) registration or successful completion of certification within 180 days.

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $59.26.
