Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist for the Deerfield Beach campus. This role performs routine and specialty sonographic procedures, supports Radiology staff, and ensures high-quality imaging with patient-centered care.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, ARDMS registration or registry eligibility with within-one-year hire date, CPR/BLS, and preferably one year of relevant experience. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography and/or Vascular accredited program.
• ARDMS abdominal registered or registry eligible; must be registered within one year of hire date; CPR and BLS certification required.
• One year of relevant experience preferred; new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialty sonographic procedures across varying difficulty.
• Operate ultrasound scanners under radiologist direction with safety procedures.
• Ensure diagnostic quality through knowledge of ultrasound techniques and potential pitfalls.
• Make preliminary interpretations and bring suspected pathology to attention of attending physician.
• Check orders and gather pertinent clinical information from patient records.
• Assist physicians in invasive and special procedures.
• Greet patients, explain procedures, and tailor communication to patient needs.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment; perform QA tests.
• Complete paperwork and enter reports in EMR systems.
