Putnam Hospital Center is seeking a radiology ultrasound technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams across obstetric, abdominal, gynecological, cardiac and vascular areas. You will maintain patient records and complete documentation while interacting with patients of all ages in a hospital setting.

The role requires RDMS registration or eligibility, and completion of an AMA-approved medical sonography program. Some manual skills and the ability to work with diverse patients are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered with RDMS or registry eligible.
• Graduate of an AMA approved course in Medical Sonography.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs ultrasound examinations of diagnostic quality of all types including obstetrical, abdominal, gynecological, cardiac and vascular. Maintains patient records and performs documentation as appropriate. This individual interacts with patients of all ages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent; Graduate of an A.M.A. approved course of study in Medical Sonography.
• Licensure/Registration/Certification: Registered with RDMS or registry eligible.
• Work Experience: Past experience as a medical sonographer preferred, but new graduates may be acceptable.

Working Conditions

Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Some occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
