Putnam Hospital Center in the New York area is seeking a certified ultrasound technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across obstetrical, abdominal, gynecologic, cardiac and vascular studies.

You will maintain patient records and documentation and interact with patients of all ages. RDMS credential or registry eligibility is required; high school graduation plus AMA‑approved sonography training.

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent; Graduate of an AMA approved course of study in Medical Sonography.
• Licensure/Registration/Certification: Registered with RDMS or registry eligible.
• Work Experience: Past experience as a medical sonographer preferred, but new graduates may be acceptable.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs ultrasound examinations of diagnostic quality of all types including obstetrical, abdominal, gynecological, cardiac and vascular. Maintains patient records and performs documentation as appropriate. This individual interacts with patients of all ages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent; Graduate of an A.M.A. approved course of study in Medical Sonography.

• Licensure/Registration/Certification: Registered with RDMS or registry eligible.

• Work Experience: Past experience as a medical sonographer preferred, but new graduates may be acceptable.

Working Conditions:

Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Some occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
